Sophia Maravell graduated from Colorado College in 2010, where she co-managed the Colorado College student-run farm and wrote her thesis on female farmers in sustainable agriculture. Upon graduation, she attended a 12-month vocational training program at The Farm School in Athol, MA, where she studied organic vegetable production and sustainable animal husbandry. She has also worked on various other farms in the U.S. and abroad in the past five years. She has recently returned to her family's farm to help start an educational component, Brickyard Educational Farm. She is an advocate for agricultural education, because she believes in growing beautiful food, vibrant communities and a healthy environment.
