Dea Keen’s prior farm work was as a field hand at Calliope Farm in Salisbury, MD. The market garden vegetable operation gave her experience in all aspects of vegetable production and high tunnel management. During that time, she lived on another organic farm and picked up skills in poultry care and processing. Dea has also worked for an environmental nonprofit where she gained experience in environmental education and project management. Currently, she is excited to be working on Brickyard Educational Farm, an agricultural education project located on the land operated by Nick’s Organic Farm in Potomac, training the next generation of eaters and growers.
